As a pouch, there isn’t much more you can expect. The Noreve design protects against outside harm and the style is classy.

There are hardly any openings in the leather and because of that I think this Noreve pouch has succeeded in what it has set out to do: protect the iPhone to its fullest abilities. The fantastic suede leather and padding protects from scratches and harm and is hard enough that it really will protect the device.

Functionality: 7

There is nothing about this pouch that communicates functionality. You’ll be able to recharge your phone, and that’s about it. But the point is to protect, not function, so keep that in mind.

I do like this case, but I have a hard time with my inability to access basic functions of the iPhone. I’m glad the case offers protection, but I’d like a little more. That said, this pouch is high quality and Noreve’s luxury leather suggests sophistication beyond most competitors.

Color:

I was lucky enough to receive the Passion Vintage case from Noreve’s Exceptional Selection of cases, which offers a type of distressed suede leather. The Passion Vintage is attractive, and though I’m not generally overwhelmed by red and pink colors, I do like this color because of the type of leather. I think what’s so interesting about it is the fact that normally a pink color wouldn’t necessarily represent anything but fun or feminine, but with this gorgeous suede leather, the color does have a hint of masculinity.

Fit and Design:

The design of this case is incredibly simple; it’s a straightforward pouch. You’ll slide the iPhone into the pouch and you’re all set. The top and bottom of the device is completely covered meaning no scratches, but also no functions! There are openings in the leather to access some functions on the ends of the device, but that’s about it. There are cut-outs in the leather for device removal from the case, which is nice, but it’s not actually as easy as I think Noreve may think it might be. I’ve actually struggled a fair amount attempting to remove my iPhone from this case and fear for its protection! But that may have to do with the tight suede leather that hasn’t been stretched out yet. As well, I’m sure each case will vary with how easy it is to remove the iPhone from the pouch. In the interior is the typical embossed Noreve logo, and on the backside of the case there is the Noreve St. Tropez logo, embossed in the leather. It’s a nice-looking pouch, just not easily accessible.

Protection:

If your purpose is to find a case that will fully protect your iPhone 3G, this Noreve pouch is for you. It will cover practically the entire device, just not allow much access to the basic functions. The high quality of the leather and padding really will sustain scratches and outside harm will have a hard time accessing the actual device.

Quality of materials:

This suede leather is gorgeous, flawed, and totally elegant. I wouldn’t voluntarily choose the Passion vintage case over the others but cannot deny the fact that it’s attractive and elegant regardless of my qualms over the color. It really is beautiful, and weighs exactly one ounce. It’s is a slimming fit, and the fantastic quality of the hand-crafted leather really does provide protection and elegance.

Conclusion:

I’m not a big fan of pouches because I love accessibility (as do many people), but given that this Noreve case is a pouch, it fulfills its purposes of protection through its high quality leather.
